Starting and stopping individual services

All ARCserveIT services are started automatically by the ARCserveIT command line. In the event that the requirement presents itself, each ARCserveIT service can be started and/or stopped on an individual basis.

Syntax for starting a service from the command line

The syntax for starting an ARCserveIT service is shown below:

arcserve -load <service module name>

- where the module name is the service that you wish to invoke.

For example:

arcserve -load asmediad

Syntax for stopping a service from the command line

To terminate an ARCserveIT service, use the following syntax:

arcserve -unload <service module name>

For example:

arcserve -unload asdbd
