System Requirements

The RealAudio encoder requires the following software and hardware:

Installation Procedure

To install the RealAudio Encoder:

  1. Install the RealNetworks encoder package by using the pkgadd command with root permission: For example, if the encoder package is in the /tmp directory, install the package by carrying out the following command:

    pkgadd -d /tmp/RNencoder.pkg

    Note
You cannot specify a relative path after the -d option of pkgadd.

  2. When pkgadd shows that the RNencoder package is available, press 1 or Enter.

While processing the package, pkgadd displays the processing steps and the files copied to your system. If the processing completes successfully, you will see the following message:

Installation of RealEncoder from RealNetworks, Inc. (RNencoder) was successful.
