Using "Restore by Backup Media"

The "Restore by Backup Media" view displays all the device groups and media that are currently attached to the host. Note that all files in a session will be restored to the destination, unless filters are added to the job. For more information on filtering, see `Filtering your jobs'.

Use the "Restore by Backup Media" in the event that the ARCserveIT databases are not available or the media's history has not been merged into the ARCserveIT database.

Using "Restore by Backup Media" to restore your files

ARCserveIT will read directly from the media devices and display the device groups you are using:

ARCserveIT will restore only the session listed in the Session # field. You must know the exact session number that exists on the selected media.

In order to get a better understanding of what files actually reside on a given media, it is suggested that you utilize ARCserveIT's Scan utility. The Scan Utility will inform you as to the sessions on the media and their contents. See `The Scan utility' for more information.

After you have selected what you want to restore, you can continue by selecting your destination, adding options, and running the job.
