Using "Restore by File System"

"Restore by File System" is the default view for the ARCserveIT Restore Manager. Using this method shows you a graphical directory tree of the selected host's clients. Files and directories that have been backed up are all displayed graphically, allowing you to select what you want to restore. After you specify the files and directories, ARCserveIT lists the media you will need for the job.

Using "Restore by File System" to restore your files

1. In the Restore Manager, select the Source tab.

2. Select "Restore by File System" from the Restore Source View drop-down menu.

3. Select what you want to restore.

When restoring, you can select many files and directories from the same client, but you can only restore up to one host (or NetWare volume, if the client is a NetWare server) per job. If you try to select from different hosts, ARCserveIT will de-select anything that was previously selected.

4. Select the Destination tab, then specify the destination (where you want the files to go).

5. Click the Submit button to run the job.
