The Device Management window

Starting point for all tape operations

The Device Management window is the starting point for all media monitoring and maintenance operations. The rest of this page shows you how to display the Device Management window and generally describes the screen.

Once selected the Device Management window appears. All information shown is directly related to the currently selected ARCserveIT server.

The following basic features are available via the Device Manager window:

• Selecting devices and device views
• Getting device information
• Getting information about media
• Configuring device groups
• Maintaining your media
• Using compression with ARCserveIT

Getting information about device drives connected to your system

You can see a variety of information about device drives connected to your system using the Device Management option. The information includes:

• Selecting a device (or group)
• Getting details about a device drive or media
• Checking the status of a device drive
