The LAN Manager roles of member and standalone server are not supported in an Advanced Server domain.
LAN Manager member servers automatically are upgraded to Advanced Server backup domain controllers. To upgrade a LAN Manager member server, use the same procedure described earlier in "Backup Domain Controller."
LAN Manager standalone servers automatically are upgraded to Advanced Server primary domain controllers. To upgrade a LAN Manager standalone server, use the procedure described earlier in Chapter 1, "Installing Advanced Server."
Use the joindomain command at the Advanced Server command prompt to join your new server to an Advanced Server domain.
